Viewing figures for last year's X Factor were down on 2014 with just 8.4m tuning into the final, the second lowest figure in the ITV show's history. Since launching in 2004, Simon Cowell's talent search has routinely attracted ratings over over 10m. However, the 2015 series struggled to pick up viewers and routinely scored lower figures than its Saturday night rival Strictly Come Dancing.
